Joining CARFAC Maritimes - the benefits!

Are you a visual artist, living and working in the Maritimes? Join our community of rights-minded professionals!

There are two reasons for joining an arts advocacy group like CARFAC Maritimes.

1) Numbers talk! The more members we have, the more powerful is our voice in advocating for the rights and well-being of all visual artists.

2) Knowledge is power! If you join our ranks, you begin to see what those rights are. Is someone stealing your image to use on a website or a greeting card?

Are you showing your work for free, or being asked to donate to an art auction with no reserve price or share in sales? Is your copyright being infringed in any way? Are you aware of your rights and your status? Join CARFAC and be informed!

Our goals

  • To support our visual artists in their search for moral and economic rights over their creations, and fair compensation for their work;
  • To put the community of artists in touch with each other, and to facilitate communications among them for the sharing of ideas and companionship, and between them and their clients

Members' services

  • the/le Studio - monthly newsletter (email and mailout)
  • information resources for the asking: CARFAC Advisory Notes and a selection of books
  • a Gallery Database (in progress) for members' reference and for advocacy purposes
  • assistance in connecting with CARFAC National services
